10 Items to Keep in Your Car

July 13, 2017

Hey….sooooo…we’re back! Long time no posts but that’s changing NOW! Our car is our partner in crime. She goes with us everywhere. And when you spend time outside or go places you haven’t been before, you never know what will happen. Over the last few years there are a handful of items that we’ve learned that are great to always have in your car. So some of these might seem obvious and chances are you already have some of these in your car. Even-still, we’d suggest keeping them in a bag or separate so they don’t get used except in a pinch. What else do you keep in your car?

1. Plastic grocery bags

Wet clothes, garbage, diapers. Reduce/reuse/recycle.

2. Baby wipes

Wash hands.
Clean stuff
And cause poop

3.Tow cable

Even if you’re not looking for trouble like I do, sometimes you find it. Or other people do. We had the pleasure of helping a sweet little lady that slept in her rental car out of this most epic mud puddle. (Disclaimer: this picture was not taken while towing her out. We made her wait and watch while we went through it a few times first.)

4. First-Aid Kit

Cause when you do hood rat stuff with your friends, you get hurt sometimes.
Tweezers
Band-Aids
Butterfly bandages
Allergy pills
Diarrhea stuff (cause poop)
Tylenol/Ibuprofen
Scissors
Gauze
Athletic tape

5. Lighter

Food
Heat
Unexpected Bon Jovi concert

6. Bug Spray

There’s nothing worse than getting somewhere where you either didn’t think you needed or realized that you forgot your bug spray. Except diaper blowouts. Those are definitely worse.

7. Sunscreen

See above.

8. Paracord

Cause you just might need to jimmy rig your car battery back in its proper place that was left dangling after being bounced out of position while rallying into your fishing spot. Or other stuff.

9. Paper Map

Cause Apple Maps is horrible and sometimes your wife isn’t the most reliable navigator and you might be in the middle of nowhere with no service by the time you realize it.

10. Water

If you don’t drink water you’ll die. Candice was watching 20/20 the other night while doing laundry and the story was about a girl that got lost while following faulty GPS directions. She ran out of gas in the middle of the desert and was there for 5 days. Luckily she had quite a bit of water. Otherwise, she’d be dead as a doornail for sure.

*11. Candle

We told you there’d be 10 things on this list but we’re giving you an extra cause we love you. If you live somewhere cold or are traveling through anywhere cold, in the event of getting stranded in your vehicle in the winter, a single candle can raise the temperature in your vehicle up to 15 degrees! More likely than getting stranded in the winter, it can help you get a fire going a bit easier if you find yourself in a pinch with wet kindling. Or if you planned a super romantic candlelight dinner but forgot your candle. #yourwelcome #justsavedyourmarriage

What do you think? Do you keep any of these in your car? Or are there others? Thanks for reading!
